Welcome to the English Democrats 1066 site. The Hastings & Rye branch was formed in September 2009 by Rod Bridger, who is the current Chairman of the Branch and was our Parliamentary Candidate for the General Election held in May 2010.

The English Democrats are committed to fight all forms of Racialism and Fascism.

We are: Not Left – Not Right – Just English and that’s a good place to be.

We demand an end to anti-English discrimination within the British Establishment and call for equal rights with the other contingent Nations of the United Kingdom. It is not our intention to bring about the break up of the United Kingdom. We simply demand the right to be able to claim our right to be English and to control our own destiny.

We are a Party of Independents, which means that we do not answer to a Party Whip; we answer to YOU the people. We are ‘Representatives’ of the people and will listen to those that we ‘Serve’, both locally and nationally. We believe in the true meaning of democracy.

We do not have rich benefactors or contributors and each candidate is fully self funding. We are not career politicians with little experience of what it is like in the real world. We live in the same world as you. We are real people!

We believe that Political Correctness is damaging our country on a daily basis, from Police Officers and Teachers who are afraid to do their job properly for fear of either ‘offending’ someone or infringing their ‘Human Rights’. Our own government who are unable to expel foreign criminals and even known terrorists because of a ruling from a foreign Court. Even to our children who have to wear eye protection to play conkers! We will reintroduce ‘Common Sense’ into our way of life.

The people of England are renowned the world over for our sense of fair play and tolerance. We open doors, we say sorry, we stand in queues - but even the stiffest upper lip must quiver eventually!

The people of England are sending a very strong message to the Lib/Lab/Con Party that we are no longer willing to be taken advantage of. The time has come for a return to Common Sense and Honesty in politics. The time has come for England to be returned to its people.
